We seek a post-doctoral researcher to work on a 3-year STFC-funded project investigating the physics of Earth’s Outer Radiation Belt. The project forms part of the University of Reading “Solar System Science” Consolidated Grant. The project would benefit most from the skills of a space plasma physicist with research interests in the generation and propagation of electromagnetic waves, wave-particle interactions and energetic particle dynamics. We welcome applications from strongly-motivated individuals who would like to join the Radiation Belt group here at Reading. Our group uses data analysis, empirical modelling and physics-based modelling to understand the variability of Earth’s Outer Radiation Belt and we seek a post-doctoral researcher to complement and extend these activities.
We seek an enthusiastic research scientist to undertake research into the role of tropical waves in modulating high impact weather in Southeast Asia; to evaluate the representation of these waves and their relationship to high impact weather in Met Office operational forecast models; and develop new forecasting tools to support operational forecasting in Southeast Asia.
EAP teachers are required to teach highly motivated students on summer Pre-sessional English language and study skills courses. Contact hours on average 19.5 hrs a week with all materials provided. Employment period includes 4 days briefing, 2 days marking exit tests and final debriefing meeting. Single accommodation in a University hall of residence is available, subsidised by ISLI. Qualifications (TEFL Diploma or MA TEFL/Applied Linguistics); EAP teaching experience in the UK an advantage.
