We are seeking a highly experienced, proactive and motivated professional to join the University Library’s Senior Management Team as our lead on academic liaison and support. You will manage, develop and support academic liaison activities and operations, as well as develop liaison strategies in consultation with other service providers and with academic staff to promote service integration and enhancement in support of University teaching, learning and research strategies.
We require an Attendant to provide essential support duties in this key University service. The Library is a busy place, with thousands of users daily during term. You will be a calm and courteous person, willing to take on a range of duties, including portering, cleaning, driving, first aid, portable appliance testing, security and reception duties.

We seek a motivated and ambitious computational scientist to join the National Centre for Atmospheric Science’s Computational Modelling Support (CMS) team. The post holder will support the NCAS high resolution and earth system modelling programmes in all aspects of the climate model workflow, improving the overall performance of the Unified Model, including portability, scalability, data handling and analysis, as well as the associated workflow infrastructure. This activity supports the Joint-Weather and Climate Programme’s High-Resolution Climate Modelling theme (HRCM), delivering world leading numerical models of the atmosphere and ocean, using the world’s most powerful supercomputers. The HRCM mission is to play a leading role internationally in advancing the frontiers of global high resolution modelling, and to advance the application of this science to address societal needs. HRCM and CMS currently engage internationally in the co-design of modelling systems that will be able to exploit exascale supercomputing.
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and experienced individual to join our Development Team as Development Manager.
The Finance team at the University of Reading is undergoing a major transformation in the way it delivers its services to both internal and external stakeholders and to meet the ambitious growth and challenges that the University has set itself. One group in the new finance structure will specialise in financial strategy and planning. These roles will be an integral part of that group, providing the expert financial support to the University through both the Business Partners and in their own right.
Reporting to the Finance Planning and Strategy Manager, the roles will be part of a team of Finance Planning and Strategy analysts (6 FTE) and a Finance Modeller, providing high quality strategic financial information, forecasts and support to the University as well as supporting the school Business Partners in their work. It is likely one or more of the posts will be mainly involved with other University service streams.
The successful candidates will need to gain a deep and thorough understanding of how the University finances operate especially at School and Service level. They will be key in providing reports and related data for the forecasting and reporting of the Group Income and Expenditure with input from the Business Partners. A key part of the role will be to assist in developing and presenting meaningful, relevant and timely management information and reports to the senior management teams of both Schools and Services to aid decision making.
