The Institute of Education (IoE) at the University of Reading is seeking to appoint two enthusiastic Lecturers or Associate Professors to work in the area of Second Language Education. Based at our historic London Road campus, the appointees will enjoy exciting opportunities to contribute to the growth of the IoE's highly regarded research in Second Language Education and MA and doctoral programmes in that area. The IoE is proud of its close links with China, and elsewhere, and the new positions will involve international travel and collaboration with our overseas counterparts. - Manage the Careers Consultancy team
- Lead on the planning and delivery of a complex set of career development work for 15,000 students across 13 academic schools, via a central career programme, via a School-based programme, and via digital delivery
- Lead on career engagement campaigns for sub-sections of our students, such as recent graduates, and final year students.
- Engage and manage a platform of external contributors such as freelance career coaches, external training providers and digital career software developers
- Oversee the Graduate Outcomes process, the RED Award, UROP, and our THRIVE mentoring programme
- Manage a set of own departmental career case load
You will be an experienced career service professional with excellent leadership skills, able to deliver to deadlines, build strong relationships with staff, academics and employers, and keen to grow what is already a sizable level of operations.
The role is responsible for the collection and posting of the University’s receipts and income. Tasks include:
- Taking telephone payments from students
- Monitoring shared email box and actioning accordingly
- Preparing refunds
- Payment reconciliation
- Preparing reconciliation sheets
- Assisting with queries
We are seeking to appoint an experienced cleaner to join our Campus Services cleaning team to deliver high quality cleaning services to the academic buildings of the University.
Knowledge of modern cleaning routines and BICSc qualifications would be desirable but not essential. Previous experience in the cleaning industry is preferred.
There are various roles, one permanent and the rest for 12 month fixed term contracts, with a view for extension.
