Employment Basis/Type: Part-time; Fixed term

The School of Psychology & Clinical Language Sciences is seeking to appoint two part-time Foundation Tutors in Psychology. The role holders will be responsible for teaching students modules that provide them with an understanding of how psychological research is conducted (e.g. experimental design) and that cover key topics within psychology. Foundation year teaching is at a level equivalent to A-level.

The successful applicant will make a strong contribution to our high-quality teaching (through lectures, seminars and practical classes), primarily at foundation level. They will be willing to innovate with respect to curriculum development (module design) and to act as an academic tutor to students.

You will have:

  • An UG degree in Psychology (minimum 2:1) and a Master degree (minimum 2:1) in a closely related subject
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Psychology and research methods
  • Confidence in basic Maths and statistics
  • Experience of teaching students aged 16+
  • Desire and enthusiasm to improve the student experience
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
