Employment Basis/Type: Full-time, Fixed-term up to 3 years

A fixed term position (36 Months) to support urban climate/meteorology projects. Main responsibilities will be to maintain a network of meteorological instruments; to undertake data analysis to ensure data quality appropriate for project applications; and additional activities, as needed, to support the research of the group (contributing to reports etc).  

 

You will have: 

  • Experience of data processing for example for meteorology, hydrology and/or environmental science 

  • Programming in Python, R, Fortran and/or MatLab 

  • Bachelors or Masters in an appropriate subject (e.g. mathematics, meteorology, environmental science, physics, engineering, computer science) or equivalent 

  • Familiarity with data harvesting (e.g. online data sources) and working with instruments that provide data to online systems (e.g. ceilometers, sonics, etc) 

  • Good oral and written presentation skills 

  • Computing and data management skills 

  • Ability to work well with others and independently 

  • Good problem-solving skills (e.g. instrument, programming problems) 

  • Ability to communicate and work with project participants and stakeholders 

  • Ability to keep the relevant people informed of the status of tasks and things that may require attention
