The Global Recruitment team (within Global Recruitment and Admissions) is responsible for the recruitment of undergraduates and postgraduates and for widening participation.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a well-organised and efficient individual with strong presentation and interpersonal skills to play a key part in our recruitment and outreach activity. The University has ambitious targets for recruitment and this role provides a key component of our work with schools and colleges to provide on campus visits to inform their students about Higher Education generally and the University of Reading specifically. You’ll also be responsible for handling enquiries from prospective students, providing information and support for individuals considering Reading as an option and managing the day to day running of the student ambassador scheme.
The role requires the ability to work at pace in a fast-moving environment; an understanding of both the Higher Education and schools sectors; an aptitude for working with people and technical systems; and the ability to manage your own workload in order to deliver multiple tasks in parallel.
- Very strong presentation and audience engagement skills with students aged 11-18
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of people
- Good knowledge of the issues faced by the higher education sector and how the student recruitment cycle works in the UK
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Understanding of UK 11–18 education
- Excellent written communication skills
