The University of Reading Library is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated information professional for the post of Associate Director (Scholarship and Planning) to join the Senior Management Team.
You will lead on all aspects of the Library’s support for research and the scholarly lifecycle with specific responsibilities for Open Research, Open Access, research data management, digital humanities and content strategy. As a member of the senior management team, you will play a key role in the forward planning within the Library, taking responsibility for the content and Open Access budgets and the associated teams. You will also manage the administrative staff within the Library.
You will be an innovative information professional with experience of leading and developing staff. You will have excellent communication and leadership skills, coupled with a proactive approach to continuous improvement. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold an appropriate professional qualification.
This is an exciting time to join the University of Reading with the recent completion of a £40M library refurbishment project and the creation of the Digital Humanities Hub within the Library. University Library and Collections Services supports teaching, learning and research, working with academic and professional services colleagues to deliver excellent services across the University.
