The role will be part of a prestigious Wellcome Trust Nutrition Award at the University of Reading School of Agriculture, Policy & Development. The project aims to research the effects of staple crop cultivar choice on the nutritional quality and composition of infant weaning foods. The project is highly collaborative, and is partnered with Harvard University, the University of Virginia, the Quadram Institute, and the University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute. The role will offer the opportunity to work with some of the foremost researchers in food and nutritional science.

The applicant will be responsible for project administration and communication; specifically, organising a fully online sandpit meeting for project members and stakeholders. The applicant will:

  • Maintain close communication with project members via Microsoft Teams and regular emails
  • Organise a fully online programme for the sandpit event, and facilitate discussions with stakeholders online across multiple time zones.
  • Record and disseminate the results of the sandpit event, and assist with the preparation of data and information in support of a follow on funding application.

Detailed supervision and guidance will be provided by Dr. Luke Bell (Lecturer in Temperate Horticulture).

The applicant will be expected to work 15 hours per week, though the exact day-to-day timings are flexible. The role can be performed remotely, and a laptop computer can be provided to facilitate this.
