Henley Business School, part of the University of Reading, is a world-class, triple accredited business school. Our Press Office develops national and international stories on our research, expertise and faculty, and we have an exciting opportunity to join the team.

You will write and pitch great features and stories, respond to day-to-day media enquiries and seek opportunities for our academics and spokespeople to comment on the news agenda – helping to build on Henley’s global reputation as a place ‘where business comes to life’.

You will be proactive, creative and buzzing with ideas. You must be able to work at pace in a fast-moving environment – able to spot opportunities early to stay ahead of our competitors. And you will be able to communicate complex research and ideas in a clear and compelling manner.

This role will also involve supporting the Senior Press Officer and the Head of PR and Communications with the organisation of press and brand events and campaigns, monitoring and evaluating media coverage and assisting with internal communications.

You will be based at our Whiteknights campus in Reading, but will require flexibility to work at our Greenlands campus in Henley-on-Thames as required.

You will have:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in journalism, PR or media relations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and schedule multiple tasks
  • Experience working with social media channels
