The Department of Economics at the University of Reading is looking to appoint to the position of Lecturer (Assistant Professor), beginning in September 2020.

Applicants are invited from any area of economics. Applicants should have or expect to have completed their PhD by September 2020, should be committed to conducting research of an international quality, and willing to play their part in a collegiate research, teaching and learning environment.

The Department of Economics is research focused, with a commitment to teaching our students to achieve at the highest levels. We operate five research clusters covering areas of particular strength within the department (labour, development, behavioural, business and finance and sport), a Centre for Institutions and Economic History, and the Economic Analysis Research Group. The successful applicant will be expected to join one of these groupings, and will be assigned a mentor for both their research and teaching activity.

The Department will be at the EEA Meetings in Rotterdam on 18 – 19 December 2019, and will conduct first round interviews there, with a second stage in Reading in early 2020. Please indicate in your cover letter whether you will be at the Rotterdam meeting, as successfully shortlisted applicants may alternatively be offered Skype interviews at the same time.
