We seek a highly motivated research technician to work on a BBSRC-GCRF funded project on improvement of cocoa soils in Ghana through composting and biochar production, running to March 2021. The post will involve:

  • characterisation of chemical and physical properties of on-farm wastes, composts and biochars
  • digestion and extraction of soil and plant samples and subsequent ICP analysis
  • assisting a postdoctoral researcher with controlled environment experiments

You will have:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Environmental Science, Chemistry), or equivalent
  • Good knowledge and experience of preparing samples in the laboratory and analysing them using analytical equipment
  • Good organisational skills to conduct high quality sample preparation and analysis
