A vacancy has arisen for the position of Executive Administration Manager in the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development.  This is a varied and interesting role providing high quality administrative support to the School and coordinating the delivery of highly professional administrative services with management responsibility for a team of six executive support staff.

To provide high quality administrative support to the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development.    The role co-ordinates the delivery of highly professional administrative and executive support services with management responsibility for the Executive Support Team of six.

The post holder must possess a high level of professionalism in both demeanour and conduct with a proven ability to interact effectively with internal colleagues and external stakeholders. 

With a strong commitment to excellent customer service, the post holder will build strong and effective relationships with colleagues in similar roles across the University, implement common processes and new ways of working and work collaboratively to share best practice for efficient and effective working to build capacity, competency and career development across the Executive Support provision in the University.

The School of Agriculture, Policy and Development at Reading, of which this post holder would be a member of staff, is global in its outlook and has an international reputation for both education and research. It was recently ranked 9th in the World QS subject rankings for Agriculture and Forestry in 2019. Within the University of Reading, SAPD has strong research links with the School of Biological Sciences, Geography & Environmental Science, and Food and Nutritional Sciences and has an established reputation for inter-disciplinary research.

You will have:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment within an administrative role
  • Experience of providing executive support to senior management
  • Experience of line management in a team context and the ability to motivate and lead a team
