We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in International Security with internationally-recognised research excellence and strongly developed skills in teaching, together with relevant experience in academic administration, outreach and grant application development. We are looking particularly for candidates specialising in contemporary forms of war and warfare, and who can also contribute effectively to teaching in Strategic Studies and International Relations. Candidates with demonstrable strength in research methods are particularly encouraged to apply and an ability to engage with the military and relevant policy makers will be an advantage.

Politics and International Relations is ranked among the top 10 politics departments in the UK by research outputs in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). We are a dynamic department with particular expertise in Conflict, Security, and Strategy; Applied Political Theory; and Comparative Politics.
