Employment Basis/Type: Full Time, 1 Year Fixed Term

The Department is seeking to appoint a Lecturer whose role will be to contribute to the teaching programme of the Department (both undergraduate and postgraduate), to conduct research at the highest level in ways that support the Department’s research environment, and to conduct administrative duties in a timely and effective manner.

You will have:

  • Expertise in, and a proven and substantial record of teaching in ancient history at all undergraduate levels.  (All areas of specialism will be considered, but expertise in Greek history is especially desirable.)
  • The ability to contribute to other teaching in the Department, including ancient Greek and/or Latin
  • A proven and substantial record of significant research
  • The ability to function actively and creatively to support the research environment of the Department
  • Good communication skills, being able to engage an undergraduate audience and being committed to ensuring a positive learning experience for all students
  • The ability and willingness to carry out the administrative duties associated with teaching, as well as other administrative duties, in a timely and effective manner
