Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Applied Psychology.  This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to pursue applied research as it relates to consumer behaviour, and develop the School’s sector-leading BSc Consumer Behaviour and Marketing degree. The post holder will be expected to contribute to teaching as well as develop their own research portfolio. In particular it is expected that the post holder will help lead and develop bids to EIT Foodconnects [https://eit.europa.eu/eit-community/eit-food} of which the University is a leading partner. We would be particularly interested in applicants with a consumer behaviour related portfolio, experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment and working with industrial partners. This is a fixed term contract for three years initially but with a view to extension/making permanent.

The Applied Economics Marketing and Development group sits within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development at Reading, is global in its outlook and has an international reputation for both teaching and research. Within the University of Reading, SAPD has strong research links with Psychology, Henley Business School, Geography & Environmental Science, and Food and Nutritional Sciences and has an established reputation for inter-disciplinary research.

You will have:

  • MSc or PhD level education in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge and skills relating to psychology in the context of marketing
  • A track record in high quality research
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Presentation and communication skills required for teaching
