The Counsellor post is incredibly important one, we value our in-house support provisions and want to enhance the service with a dynamic individual. We are looking for someone who can support students in the moment as well as short term counselling sessions. The post holder will be able to support general psychoeducational development and understand the HE sector.

The Counselling and Wellbeing team is a supportive team, both to students and to each other. We welcome change, growth ideas and development of support mechanisms. Staff are offered, within the team, clinical CPD, part funded supervision, 1:1 support and multidisciplinary clinical meetings to enhance clinical development. Our service is based at Whiteknights Campus, surrounded by green spaces, eateries, a gym and as a staff member you will also have full access to the library.
You will have:
- You will be able to manage a caseload of students
- You will have counselling experience, in a short term setting
- Experience of assessing clinical needs
- A good understanding of HE
- Experience of supporting those with complex mental health conditions
- The ability to manage crisis situations and appropriately respond and refer those needing additional support
- The ability to develop, coordinate and host workshops and groups
- Experience of using a database
The ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
