Are you a motivated and proactive team-player with great experience in finance administration? We are seeking a skilled Finance Administration Officer to join our friendly Executive Support Team within the School of Agriculture, Policy, and Development (SAPD).

In this part-time role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial and administrative support, ensuring that the School's financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be a key player in delivering our services, developing new processes, and implementing service improvements to support internal colleagues and external stakeholders. You will also be a confident and approachable communicator, able to present budgets, advise on the impact of financial policies and assist with wide ranging queries relating to your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Administration: Perform day-to-day financial tasks, including approving and raising requisitions, authorising orders, processing BIF journal transfers, and handling queries related to school accounts.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist the Executive Administration Manager with regular financial reporting, helping to resolve queries, correct errors, and provide financial guidance to budget holders.
  • Research Grant Support: Act as the first point of contact for research grant holders, offering support in liaising with Research and Costings, providing monthly financial analysis, and ensuring accurate financial projections.

You will have:

  • Strong Financial Administration Experience: Demonstrated expertise in financial administration, including experience with financial systems, budget monitoring, and end-of-year financial procedures.
  • Understanding of University Systems: A solid understanding of university financial policies, procedures, and systems, with the ability to effectively communicate and implement these within the school.
  • Attention to Detail and Analytical Skills: Proven ability to manage complex financial data with high accuracy, identify discrepancies, and propose improvements to existing processes.
