We’re recruiting a strategic and analytical Senior Rankings and Performance Analyst to join Henley Business School’s Rankings and Performance team. In this high impact role, you will deputise for the Head of Rankings and Performance during their secondment, leading the delivery of global rankings preparation and submissions and driving performance data analysis and reporting to inform school-level and institutional priorities.
You will manage complex performance and rankings datasets, turning these into clear and actionable insights that shape decision making and elevate the school’s standing nationally and globally. Key to your success will be your ability to guide the Rankings and Performance team, provide expert analysis and strategic insight, and influence stakeholders to ensure alignment with the institutional priorities and strategic objectives of Henley Business School and the University of Reading.

This is a full-time fixed term position (6-month duration) based at the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus.
Key experiences you will gain
- Operating as deputy to the Head of Rankings & Performance, building leadership experience and reporting to senior committees and teams
- Leading on rankings and performance analysis that shapes Henley’s visibility on the national and global stage.
- Providing strategic insight and dashboard reporting from complex datasets to inform school‑level policies, processes, and priority setting.
- Influencing diverse internal and external stakeholders to align activity with institutional goals and reputational priorities.
Key responsibilities you will have
- Lead rankings submissions, with the preparation of high quality data and supporting evidence for external rankings, whilst developing and implementing performance-improvement strategies to enhance overall rankings outcomes
- Analyse and interpret rankings/performance data, producing clear narratives, dashboards, and recommendations that drive decision‑making.
- Oversee major student/graduate engagement initiatives, monitoring the graduate pipeline for global rankings
- Develop and refine the portfolio of PowerBi performance reports, identifying and addressing gaps and emerging stakeholder requirements.
- Manage and develop a small specialist team, with responsibility for resource allocation and workload planning
- Influence and collaborate with stakeholders (academic and professional services) to secure engagement with agreed actions and timelines.
- Prepare reports and committee papers as required to inform leadership discussion and actions.
Candidate profile
We are looking for a highly self‑motivated analyst and communicator with advanced data literacy, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability for turning complex data into clear and actionable insights. You bring experience in data preparation and evaluation, performance analysis, and data‑informed dashboard design.
A solid understanding of national and international global rankings will be key to success in this role.
