This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Reading Finance Department. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, the role will be part of the Finance Planning and Strategy team, providing high quality strategic financial information, forecasts and support to the University.
This qualified role will support the Heads of Directorate, Head of School and University Executive Board colleagues with a number of strategic projects Experience of producing detailed financial business cases and investment appraisal is essential.
The successful candidate will need to gain a thorough understanding of how the University finances operate. They will be key in providing reports and related information for forecasting. A key part of the role will be to develop and present management information to senior management.
You will have experience of
• Business Planning – Financially support the development and implementation of projects including investment cases and business modelling
• Professionally presenting and delivering high level financial information
• Analysis & Reporting: Combine quantitative, qualitative data to recommend courses of action
• Formulating the Strategic Financial Business Plans, and overseeing the Annual Budget & forecast processes, pro-actively challenging colleagues to ensure the University’s financial goals are met
• Ensure strong budgeting, reporting and forecasting processes are in place
• Analysing trends and highlighting risks and opportunities
• Building strong relationships with all stakeholders
