Job Description

We are seeking to appoint two ambitious Lecturer in Finance who can show great potential as a researcher with outputs that can be published in the top journals in Finance and possibly adjacent areas such as Economics or Management Science, and who has an impressive academic research agenda in the area of finance. The holders of these posts will be involved with teaching in some of the broad areas of Econometrics, Asset Pricing, Derivatives or Risk Management, with associated responsibilities in administration.

The Department of Finance and Accounting comprises two areas: Finance (The ICMA Centre) and Accountancy. The postholder is expected to provide contributions in Finance. In research, the postholder will be part of the ICMA Centre for Finance.

You will contribute to research, teaching and administration, commensurate with the Lecturer in Finance role.

The appointee is expected to:

  • Conduct independent research and demonstrate research leadership in the area of finance as well as applying for research grants;
  • Teach on some modules in the broad area of Finance in undergraduate and pre-experience master’s programmes as agreed by the Head of Department of Finance and Accounting; ability to teach some of Risk Management, Econometrics, Programming in Finance, Asset Pricing, Derivatives, Fintech, Machine Learning in Finance would be a great advantage.
  • Take on administrative duties and academic citizenship activities as well as academic leadership roles as appropriate;

You will have : compulsory

  • A PhD in Finance or Economics
  • Experience with teaching at University level
  • Experience with data science in Finance
  • Portfolio of research outputs either published or in advanced stages of revision at top journals in Finance/Econometrics/Management Science
