Are you an experienced Integration Developer?
We are seeking applicants for an exciting opportunity within our Middleware Integrations team. The Team develops, maintains and supports the University’s MS Azure Integration Services (AIS) platform and associated Master Data Management capability, including the development, testing and maintenance of AIS/Application connectors, business process mapping, and multi-application integration services. In addition, the team also supports our legacy Enterprise Service Bus BizTalk platform and the University’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution.
Based on the beautiful University of Reading Campus in Berkshire, our Middleware Team is rapidly expanding, due to the large number of exciting projects and initiatives being delivered as part of our the University’s 5 year Digital Strategy. As a result we are looking for a skilled Integration Developer to join our team, initially on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will work closely with system owners and administrators, DTS Business Partners, customers and 3rd Party software integration suppliers, to design, develop and manage integration and data feeds for a range of corporate applications within the University’s systems portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, Develop and manage the integrations and data feeds for a range of corporate applications such as the SITS Student Record System, HR System, Unit4 Finance system, Blackboard and Canvas VLEs, Identity and Access Management, Dynamics CRM, Sitecore CMS and CMIS Timetabling Systems to ensure that services are provided to agreed service levels.
Carry out a wide variety of analysis and programming tasks including MS SQL Server, SQL, SSIS packages, Azure Integration Services, C#, VB.NET, Web Services.
Manage the design and implementation of new AIS applications and the migration of existing ESB services to AIS.
Manage other systems and projects as required including ad hoc requests for integrations with corporate systems.
Liaise when required with Middleware & Integrations Team customers to understand their service requirements and to improve applications interfaces providing expert technical support and advice promoting an understanding of the data implications of system integration, inter-relationships between corporate systems, data ownership, system change and good data management techniques across the university.
Effectively manage your own workload to meet deadlines and to support the workload of others in the team.
Ensure that operational processes and facilities relating to the integration platforms are documented, maintained and reviewed regularly to maintain their effectiveness and efficiency.
Investigate and resolve incidents and problems relating to the integration platforms in accordance with agreed SLA targets working with the Service Desk.
Minimum Tech Stack Requirements:
- Azure Integration Services Skills
- Azure Function Development
- MSSQL programming
- MS SSIS packages
- Understanding of industry best practice relating to
- Change and release management
- Software testing
This is a 2 year fixed term position with opportunities to work in a hybrid fashion.
