Job Description

Working as a Postal Services Assistant at the functional heart of this leading University, you will be responsible for providing a diverse range of high-quality services working as part of a highly skilled team. You are a pro-active, problem solver with a conscientious approach to customer care, who is willing to acquire a broad range of expertise very quickly.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled professionals performing a wide range of tasks, ranging from serving customers, including by email, telephone and face to face, to driving vans, lifting, carrying, delivering and collecting mail and parcels at all University sites, sorting internal mail, processing outgoing mail on web-based apps, and carrying out a wide range of other PC based administration tasks.

This is a part time, permanent role, working on a basic rota system with starts no earlier than 1.30 pm and finishes no later than 6 pm, Monday to Friday. You will average 3 hours and 36 minutes per day, 5 days per week. The specific rota times will vary each week.

You will have:

  • A full clean manual driving licence (an automatic only licence is not suitable)
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Customer service experience
  • On-the-job manual-handling experience (including heavy lifting)
  • Experience of team working
  • GCSE level equivalent attainment in English and Maths
