Job Description

One of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities, the University of Reading, is seeking a creative social media professional to join its Digital Campaigns and Engagement team.

The Digital Campaigns and Engagement Officer will have experience of managing social media channels in a professional context, working as part of a team to manage the institutions broad channel mix to engage a daily audience of 350,000+ users.

With demonstrable digital content creation skills, you will be heavily involved in the development and delivery of digital media campaigns, including planning, creation, commissioning and implementation of engaging content for a range of diverse audiences.

You will liaise with colleagues across the University to understand requirements and help to develop an appropriate solution, using the skills from within your own team and the wider Marketing Communications and Engagement Department.

You will also help to manage these campaigns and report on their effectiveness to shape future delivery.

You will have:

• Ability to prioritise and balance conflicting demands

• Experience of a broad range of social media channels

• Good communication skills (written and verbal) – ability to craft concise, engaging material for a non-technical audience

• Ability to assess marketing challenges and initiate appropriate solutions

• Experience of leading marketing initiatives using social media to generate engagement
