Job Description

This an exciting opportunity to join a University and industry research collaboration that is exploring the impact of chronic consumption of a newly developed prebiotic-fortified functional bakery product on cognitive and mood in older adults, through a randomised controlled trial.

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant to join a team at the University of Reading on an Innovate UK-funded project on part-time basis (0.8 FTE) for a fixed term of 12 months.

We are seeking a highly capable and highly motivated individual with excellent organisation and communication skills to deliver various elements of this project, including organising and executing a randomised controlled trial. The position will provide the post holder with experience of organising, delivering, and disseminating a human research trial in collaboration with various partners. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • excellent organisational skills, able to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • excellent communication skills, able to recruit participants and support successful collaboration between the project’s academic and industry partners  
  • experience of behavioural research in humans, data handling and statistical analysis
  • a PhD in psychology, or a related discipline.
