Job Description

The department of Finance and Accounting in the Henley Business school at the University of Reading is seeking to appoint an outstanding Professor in Sustainable Accounting and Finance who has demonstrated outstanding qualities as a researcher with outputs in the top journals in Accounting and/or Finance and possibly adjacent areas, and who has an ambitious academic research agenda in the area of sustainability accounting and finance. The holder of this post will be involved with teaching in some of the broad areas of accounting, financial management, ESG or financial intermediation, corporate finance, with associated responsibilities in administration. You will also be involved with doctoral students supervision and training. This post aligns with the strategic research agenda of the University as well as Henley Business School in the area of sustainability. The school appreciates quality over quantity in terms of both teaching and research.

Members of our department have published in leading academic journals including Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Corporate Finance, British Journal of Management and the Journal of Banking and Finance. We offer a diverse range of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes in many areas of finance, including specialized programmes such as the MSc Climate Change, Sustainable Business and Green Finance, and the MSc Finance & Financial Technology. We also have a vibrant community of excellent PhD researchers.

You will have a track record of excellent research of international standing, built on outstanding quality of research outputs comparable to publications in journals contained in the FT50 list and a significant international research impact both nationally and internationally. In addition, you should have specialist knowledge of theories and contemporary practice in the field of sustainable accounting, climate finance, sustainable financial intermediation as well as in the broad areas of accounting, financial management, financial intermediation to be able provide teaching and curriculum design.
