Job Description

About Us:
The University of Reading offers a unique working environment across three stunning campuses: the 19th-century landscaped Whiteknights, the formal gardens of London Road, and the serene riverside Greenlands in Henley-on-Thames. Our campuses provide an inspiring backdrop for your career. As part of our Estates Team, you’ll contribute to the management and maintenance of our academic buildings, research facilities, and natural landscapes. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities.

The Role:
We are seeking a Maintenance Contracts Co-ordinator to ensure the effective administration of our maintenance contracts. This role is key to keeping our campuses in top condition, and it requires a blend of organisational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Contract Oversight: Assist in monitoring and coordinating the scheduling and completion of maintenance tasks, ensuring contractors are available and tasks are completed on time.
•    Administrative Support: Handle administrative duties related to contracts, including raising purchase orders, tracking invoices, and maintaining detailed records.
•    Quality Assurance: Assist in reviewing inspection reports, coordinate remedial work, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and industry standards.
•    Independent Work: After your initial training, you’ll be expected to work with minimal supervision, prioritising and coordinating the work of multiple contractors to deliver high-quality results within the required timelines.

About You:
We’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience in facilities management or maintenance coordination is a plus but not essential. The ideal candidate will be proactive, with a commitment to maintaining our campuses to the highest standards.

Why Join Us?
Joining the University of Reading means becoming part of a dynamic team dedicated to preserving the beauty and functionality of our campuses. You’ll enjoy working in a beautiful setting with access to excellent resources and a supportive community. If you’re ready to take on this rewarding challenge and make a meaningful impact, we’d like to hear from you.

Closing date: 22nd September 2024
