Job Description

The University of Reading is globally recognised as a world-leader in research on the environment.  At a time of unprecedented global change and pressures on our natural environment, our mission is to deliver the knowledge and solutions that are required to reduce and, where possible, reverse environmental damage, to build a more resilient society and to enable effective adaptation.

To achieve our ambitions, we conduct world-leading research across a wide breadth of environmental science, build new transdisciplinary solution-focused collaborations, and work with partners in business, government, and civil society to achieve positive impact.

Working primarily with the Environment theme, you will be contributing to the continuous improvement in the development of policy, economic and societal benefit from the theme.  You will work on the development of the impact culture within your remit and provide support to a pipeline of projects within the theme, working with external partners where necessary to ensure opportunities for impact are maximized and captured. You will also have a major role in the delivery of the REF and the University’s impact strategy.

You will have:
•    The ability to work with a diverse range of academic and professional services stakeholders
•    Knowledge of impact and the routes to achieving it
•    Experience of managing projects in a research setting

•    The ability to work as part of a team to progress a programme of work

The role holder will join a newly formed and delightful impact team within Research Services and will work alongside the Impact Development Managers from the other Themes to jointly deliver on the University’s impact, and all on our beautiful and green campus.
