Job Description
We seek an environmental or agricultural scientist with experience working in both the field and the laboratory to collect and analyse samples for the UKRI/Horizon Europe project LEGUMINOSE (Legume-cereal intercropping for sustainable agriculture across Europe).
The role will primarily require collecting and analysing soil, plant, leachate, and gas samples from a field experiment based at the University of Reading Crops Research Unit at Sonning Farm and analysing these for a range of key chemical or biological properties using laboratories and analytical instruments based in the Russell Building on Whiteknights campus.
You will have :
- BSc in a relevant discipline (e.g. Environmental Science, Agriculture), or equivalent.
- Experience and willingness to undertake fieldwork outside making measurements and collecting environmental samples
- Experience working in a laboratory analysing environmental samples and running analytical instruments
- Ability and willingness to frequently travel to the University of Reading farm in Sonning with occasional visits to other UK farms to undertake fieldwork.
