Job Description

Henley Business School’s International Business and Strategy Department is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Human Resource Management (Fixed Term, 22 months).

The role is aligned to an aspiring scholar who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of knowledge and shaping the future of research in the fields of international human resource management.

The department aspires to remain at the forefront of research and teaching, through its contribution to the activities of the World of Work Institute – which aims to understand how businesses face the future of work by applying innovative research to real workplaces – and the Dunning Centre for International Business – one of the world’s premier centres of international business and international human resource management with internationally renowned researchers, including Chris Brewster, Mark Casson, Davide Castellani, Rita Fontinha, Rajneesh Narula and Alain Verbeke. Research in the Dunning Centre straddles the fields of international business, strategic management, innovation, develop geography and human resource management, and balances the necessity of a deep theoretical grounding with the added value of a strong applied focus.

Successful applicants will:

  • have (or be close to completing) a PhD in Management, Human Resource Management, International Business, Strategy, or related fields (or close to completion)
  • demonstrate potential to develop a strong research profile and to publish in world-leading outlets
  • conduct research that complement areas of expertise of the World of Work Institute and the Dunning Centre
  • show potential to teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the areas of International Human Resource Management, broadly defined
  • be able to work well in teams with colleagues across the business school

The role will involve research, teaching and administrative duties. Early career researchers benefit from reduced teaching.
