Job Description

Henley Business School’s International Business and Strategy Department is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Business and Strategy.

The role is aligned to an aspiring scholar who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of knowledge and shaping the future of research in the fields of international business and/or global strategy.

For more than 60 years, the University of Reading has helped define the research agenda in the field of international business and we continue to remain at the forefront of research and teaching in the field. We are home to the Dunning Centre for International Business, one of the world's premier research centres with internationally renowned members, including Chris Brewster, Mark Casson, Davide Castellani, Rajneesh Narula and Alain Verbeke. Research in the Centre straddles the fields of international business, strategic management, innovation, development, economic geography and human resource management, and balances the necessity of a deep theoretical grounding with the added value of a strong applied focus.

Successful applicants will:

  • have (or be close to completing) a PhD in Management, International Business, Strategy, or related fields (or close to completion);
  • demonstrate potential to develop a strong research profile and to publish in world-leading outlets;
  • conduct research that complement areas of expertise of the Dunning Centre
  • show potential to teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the areas of International Business or Strategy, broadly defined;
  • work well in teams with colleagues across the business school

The role will involve research, teaching and administrative duties. Early career researchers benefit from reduced teaching.
