We require two PWP Clinical Educators to provide teaching and marking for the Charlie Waller Institute Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment (IAPT pathway).
The posts are part-time 0.4 FTE (Hours to be negotiated) and fixed-term for up to 3 years. The posts are available as a University contract or as a secondment from an NHS organisation.
The role will involve
- Teaching workshops to those on the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) graduate/postgraduate certificate course. Some teaching will be need to be delivered online
- marking students’ coursework
- liaison with students and their services
- taking an overview of the PWP course planning ensuring it is in-line with national requirements at all times.
You will have:
- Ideally a minimum of one year’s post PWP qualification experience in an IAPT service
- Excellent clinical skills reflected in an ability to engage with clients and to link the science and practice of psychological therapies for depression and anxiety
- Excellent teaching skills demonstrated by feedback from those previously taught
- Exceptional ability to communicate the evidence-based Step 2 psychological interventions for depression and anxiety. These communication skills must be both written and verbal. The successful applicant must be able to communicate with a range of project stakeholders at all levels from students to senior NHS and University managers, and work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to understand where difficulties may arise with implementing the evidence-based Step 2 psychological interventions for depression and anxiety within an IAPT service; ability to work with clinicians from all backgrounds with a variety of experience to troubleshoot these difficulties
- Ability to use the full range of MS Office packages
- Exceptional organisational ability and flexibility
- A willingness to travel to provide PWP training across, and at times out of region
- Some evidence of interest in clinical research would be an advantage
