A Research Officer is sought to support the development of a research framework for the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, and the scoping of potential research projects, with the aim of raising the profile of the collection as a research resource.

The Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology is situated in the Department of Classics in the University of Reading, and forms a key part of its public engagement strategy.  This post is based in the University Museums and Special Collections Services, and is managed by the Director of the Heritage & Creativity Institute for Collections (https://research.reading.ac.uk/hcic/).     

The successful applicant will have:

  • Proven ability to undertake collections based research

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven ability to deliver projects successfully and on time

  • Enthusiasm for collaborative and interdisciplinary working

  • A PhD in a relevant area
