The Anxiety and Depression in Young people (AnDY) research clinic provides evidence-based, low intensity psychological treatments for children and young people alongside clinical research in the clinic and community.  We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with an interest in research to join the AnDY adolescent depression team.  The post holder will support a research study evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of delivering brief, low intensity interventions in secondary schools for students experiencing low mood and/or anxiety symptoms.  The project also involves school surveys of emotional health and may include brief psychological input for school staff and parents in the final phase of the study.  The post holder will join a growing and dynamic team of Research Clinical Psychologists, Child and Young people Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (CY-PWPs), researchers and students.

The post is part-time (0.4FTE) until 31st March 2019 and is offered alongside a 0.6FTE NHS AfC Band 7 BHFT Clinical Psychologist post in the AnDY research clinic.  These posts can be combined to create a full-time position so applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for both positions.  For details of the 0.6FTE post, please see https://www.berkshirehealthcare.nhs.uk/work-for-us/

You will have:

  • A DClinPsy qualification (or equivalent)
  • The ability to deliver psychological interventions for children and young people with anxiety and depression difficulties, to a high standard
  • The ability to effectively train and supervise others in treatment delivery
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An organised and systematic approach with a high level of attention to detail
